It was a fruitful opportunity to share experiences and learn, during which everyone was able to present the opportunities and challenges facing the water and sanitation sector in their own country;

Dr Goba’ ’s presentation highlighted Côte d’Ivoire’s tremendous potential for capacity-building in the water and sanitation sector and the partnerships that exist with France:

– A solid strategic and institutional framework, underpinned by the Ivorian government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring universal access to drinking water and sanitation;

– Tailored training and support programmes, aimed at equipping managers and stakeholders in the sector with long-term skills, as is the case with the International Executive Master’s programme I am currently undertaking at the Water for All Chair on access to water and sanitation for all;

– A strong determination to develop balanced and fruitful partnerships with European and international stakeholders, in order to collectively address the challenges of climate change and sustainable development.

These rich and constructive discussions confirm that building the capacity of local stakeholders and fostering cooperation between our continents are essential drivers for ensuring high-quality essential services for all communities.
